The media coverage of Rose Hanbury, Kate Middleton (then Duchess of Cambridge), and Prince William’s “rural rift” was a blink and you’ll miss it media event. Think Liz Truss and her tenure as Prime Minister. In both cases a head of cabbage lasted longer.

And not only would you miss it, it would be scrubbed from the internet entirely.

No, the Rural Rift Rumors Didn’t Begin with Giles Coren

One of the “gotchas” upset viewers of my videos tend to throw out when I utter “She Who Must Not Be Named” is that a tweet by writer Giles Coren started the rumor and he later recanted. Therefore, nothing to see here.

Except that’s not true.
