Why Is the Heritage Foundation Obsessed with Prince Harry's Immigration Status?
Plus Meghan's "stolen" podcast name and Prince William's burner accounts
Hello!
Here’s a little midweek grab bag for ya. While I refer to it as “little”, it actually takes a ton of time to research, write, and edit each blog post I put out. I’ll be completely honest; right now Substack is my main source of income and it’s not been great for creators recently. And I totally get it; the world is scary and money is tight. I have given away more paid subscriptions than I can count because of readers reaching out about a sudden job loss, financial issues, etc. I’m happy to do it.
If you are interested and able to support my work on one of my paid tiers it would mean a lot as I continue to try and grow this platform.
First up, a question someone sent me via Instagram:
Why is the Heritage Foundation so obsessed with Prince Harry’s visa status?
Background: Besides writing about his frozen todger in Spare, Prince Harry noted some instances of illegal drug taking (or at least some were illegal at the time in the US, like marijuana) prompting the conservative Heritage Foundation to demand Harry’s visa papers released to see if he lied about taking drugs.
Taking drugs in the past doesn’t automatically disqualify you from a visa. I mean, look at the celebrities we’ve allowed in the country. Keith Richards is living peacefully in Connecticut, I think Prince Harry is fine.
Why is it in the news now?:
Well, the efforts have paid off and Homeland Security has until the end of today to release his US visa records.
It doesn’t matter what is in them, the Heritage Foundation will find a way to twist this into a win and not a huge waste of taxpayer funds and court time. It is a fishing expedition.
Why zero in on Prince Harry? Because he makes news. Like trans athletes, this is a situation receiving outsized attention because of who it is and what it represents. For trans athletes, it’s this larger “gender ideology” issue that is oppressing traditional values and also taught in schools? (They just hate public education, what can I say.) In the case of Prince Harry it’s about immigration. This delivers the desired press the Heritage Foundation wants and allows people like Flotsam, I mean, Nile Gardiner, to build their profiles off the backs of this Prince Harry “scandal” and promote immigration issues overseas and at home in the U.K.
It’s about Prince Harry, but it’s also not.
Q: Why is Meghan being accused of copying another creator?
